During a bitter cold week in February, students of every artistic persuasion pulled out all the stops for the third annual Colgate Arts! Initiative Festival.

Sharing their creative expressions over seven days, the students showcased their wide array of talents, from improv comedy, music, and dance to public art, films, and workshops for local children, both indoors and out.

Founded by students in 2004, the Colgate Arts! Initiative has helped raise the profile of the arts on campus, said Rachel Vining '06, one of the festival's organizers. "By making more people aware of what we offer on campus, hopefully more people will become active in the arts," she said.
