Shevorne Martin '08 posted her third consecutive double-digit performance with 12 points against Lehigh, which beat the Raiders 67-37.

Former Colgate head football coach Fred Dunlap '50 was recently presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award by the Central New York Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. The award, given at a dinner event held at Turning Stone Resort and Casino, recognizes an individual whose efforts and activities have supported amateur football and the goals of the local chapter. Former Colgate All-American Kenny Gamble '88 was the keynote speaker, and senior linebacker Mike Gallihugh was honored for the second-straight year with a Scholar-Athlete Award.

Gallihugh was also named to the Associated Press second team All-America and to the College Sporting News Fabulous 50 team.

Head football coach Dick Biddle received the Johnny Vaught Head Coach Award at the All-American Football Foundation's Banquet of Champions in Newton, Mass.

The Colgate men's lacrosse team will make three television appearances this spring: on Time Warner Sports against Vermont on March 11 and Syracuse on May 3, and CSTV (College Sports Television) against Navy on March 23.

Head field hockey coach Cathy Foto recently assumed the duties of assistant athletic director. She will serve as the department liaison to the Office of the Dean of the College, working directly with the faculty liaison program, and helping in strategic planning. This is Foto's 19th year on the Colgate staff.

Ed Deugan has been named assistant softball coach. He comes to Colgate from Sonoraville High School in Georgia. Previously, he held the position of top assistant coach at Tennessee State University for two seasons. A 1997 graduate of the University of Iowa, Deugan was head softball coach at Westminster College in Missouri and Andrew College in Georgia.

Junior Sam Hunt won the 2008 European Air Canada Cup as a member of the Canadian National Under-22 team in Ravensburg, Germany, in January. Hunt is the third Raider to have won the Air Canada Cup; Tara French '07 and Becky Irvine '06 won the goal with Canada in 2006. Hunt had one goal and an assist in competition against Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Men's soccer players Eric Anton and Dan Belke, both seniors, were invited to a tryout with D.C. United of Major League Soccer. Anton was the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year; Belke was the league's Defensive Player of the Year.
