LIVE... from central New York, it's... CUTV

Gateline hosts Devon Graham '03, left, and Brian Ascher '03, do what they do best -- poke fun at Colgate -- during the season premiere of one of CUTV's more popular comedy shows. Gateline is in its second semester.
Founded in 1981 by Barrett Lester '85, CUTV-13, Colgate's student-run television station, was on the brink of dissolving in the spring of 2002. Equipment failures, an inadequate budget and a lack of sufficient studio space had caused the station to gradually fall apart. However, through the hard work of a small, dedicated core staff and the support of administration and alumni, funding was secured for a new, $30,000 project in the summer of 2002 to expand and revitalize the studio. CUTV has exploded as the fastest growing student activity on campus, with upwards of 100 members. Producing 15 student-run shows, special events, live sports coverage and other programs provides students the opportunity to learn, create and produce original television programming with the goal of entertaining and educating its viewing audience, both within and beyond Colgate.
