Wanted: Alumni Corporation Board nominations
The nominations committee of the Alumni Corporation Board of Directors seeks recommendations for candidates. This distinguished volunteer board is composed of a diverse and talented group of women and men dedicated to providing their leadership and engagement in advancing Colgate and its mission. The board serves in an advisory role to the president, the Board of Trustees, and key faculty and staff, facilitating a broad range of connections between and among the university and its alumni. Each year 11 to 13 new members are selected to represent specific eras and geographic areas as well as at-large positions. Candidates, initially identified through the nominations committee, are ultimately ratified by the full board of directors. Ideal candidates exhibit several of the following qualities:
The nominations committee does the bulk of its work at its first two meetings of the year: the fall and winter meetings. Sending nominations by September 1 allows the committee to more extensively review the candidates, although nominations will be accepted until December 31 for review at the winter meeting. The awards committee of the Alumni Corporation Board of Directors seeks nominations from the classes ending in 3 and 8 for the alumni awards to be presented at Reunion 2008. Award categories include:
*All candidates who have previously received the Maroon Citation will be considered for this award, the highest honor given by the Alumni Corporation.
