Alumni Affairs

Online and in touch

By now you will have received (and hopefully read) my letter announcing the next version of the alumni online community at If you did not get your mailing, contact us today at for more information! Beginning Jan. 25, the site will have an expanded alumni directory, new personal preferences, enhanced news features, a place to post wedding photos and other neat services. I hope you will find some of these things helpful and/or just fun!

The whole point of the community is to keep you connected -- to Colgate and to one another. There was no greater demonstration of this need than in the days and weeks following Sept. 11. I was overwhelmed by the number of alumni who wanted to post messages and get more information. There was touching concern for friends, classmates, fellow alumni and their families. I hope that you found the resources available online to be a comfort. I know that for us here in the alumni office, it was indeed heartening to be able to help in some way.

Incredible too, has been the response to our new 'GateLine e-mail newsletter. This is just another way for us to share a little bit of campus with you. We received many notes from alumni who enjoyed hearing about the great things that are happening on campus and across the world with Colgate people. The newsletter seemed to hit home with many of you. Please keep the feedback coming.

I hope that these new technologies only add to further to our sense of community. Enjoy meeting new alumni and renewing old acquaintances online. Be well in this New Year.
