Game Day
Dick Biddle was jumping for joy. Anyone who knows the Red Raiders' head football coach could have reasonably thought such a scene would never happen, but then, that's why score is kept and why Saturday afternoons in autumn are held so dear by the Class of '37 and first-years alike. Game day, of course, is more than the thrill of victory. It's tailgates and Swinging 'Gates, the marching pep band, cheerleaders and old friends in the stands. It is bundling up against the cold and the sun setting maroon. The usually stoic Biddle was getting serious air because his team had climbed out of a 17-point hole to beat undefeated and league-leading Lehigh 28-24. It was a great football game and a great day.
